HZ-12 Basic Operation

The HZ-12 Centrifugal Barrel Finishing Machine uses high-energy centrifugal force to rapidly remove material, smooth surfaces, and produce a uniform, isotropic finish that cannot be achieved by hand. Operating on the Ferris wheel principle with a one-to-one barrel and turret rotation, four partially filled barrels rotate around the turret and on their own axis, creating an intense sliding action for fast, consistent finishing results.

Efficient, Low Waste Barrel Design

The HZ-12 Centrifugal Barrel Finisher includes four removable barrels that are fully taken out of the machine for easy loading and unloading of parts and media, making it ideal for micro sized precision components that require only small amounts of media. Its closed system design eliminates the need for a constant flow of water and compound, significantly reducing wastewater, and with an optional second set of four barrels, operators can prepare one set while another is running to minimize downtime and improve productivity.

HZ-12 Tool-Less Lockdown Bars

The HZ-12 Tool-Less Lockdown Bars are now standard on all HZ-12 machines and serve as an upgraded replacement for MFI’s original bars. They fit existing machines without any modifications and simplify barrel loading with tool-free operation, eliminating the need for wrenches or drills. The bars provide consistent pressure without bolts, reducing wear and tear, lowering maintenance needs, and extending machine lifespan. Their design allows for faster, safer installation, minimizing setup time and the risks of improper barrel tightening while improving overall efficiency and productivity.
